*All of these heavy metals are extremely toxic, and some if owned are illegal, and could put you in jail! To add insult to injury, most of this list is found in our food, hygiene products, and our water supply's!
As a young adolescent I went along with a high percentage of my peers, and got “inked, or a “tatted”. However, seldom does one realize what accompanies basically anything we do to our bodies. I was very ignorant, and blindsided by the truth behind the art of tattooing. The truth is that the Food and Drug Administration does not regulate the tattoo industry. In fact, the general public really has been blindsided to the components of tattoo ink. Case in point, Linda Dixon of the American Academy of Micro pigmentation, a cosmetic tattooing trade group said “Information about pigments in traditional tattoo products is usually a trade secret and not shared”. Moreover, chemists from several laboratories including the government's National Center for Toxicological Research, have identified low levels of carcinogens in tattoo ink. I am sorry but in my opinion any “level” of carcinogens is deadly! What we do know is that they contain solvents and metals like lead and mercury along with a laundry list of impurities acceptable for computer printers or car paint, but not for human injection, this according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Science. To the left is a list of ingredients that have been found in tattoo ink, most of which are have been known to be present in colored ink. Prepare yourself for shock!!
